This atelier is organized by the Groupement de Recherche « Ondes Gravitationnelles ». The mission of the GdR is to bring together the French scientists interested in all aspects of the physics of gravitational waves: from specific aspects such as waveforms, development of detectors and data analysis to the scientific impact on other fields, such as astrophysics, fundamental physics, cosmology. The GdR is organized in eight Working Groups representing the main topics covered by the GdR: waveforms, source populations, multi-messenger astronomy, cosmology, physics and astrophysics of neutron stars, data analysis, tests of general relativity and modified gravity, development of detectors. At this important time for the physics of gravitational waves, we wish to present the scientific profile of the GdR to the astrophysical community and discuss the important scientific consequences of the direct detection of gravitational waves.

The atelier will include invited and contributed talks.
