Aide pour les stages de 3ieme en collèges REP (Réseau d’Education Prioritaire) :
L’association ViensVoirMonTaf aide les collégiens de 3e scolarisés en éducation prioritaire à trouver des stages de qualité.

L’association fait la promotion de stages les plus individualisés possible, ayant constaté que c’était la clé d’un stage réussi, et à fort impact. Après le stage, l’association encourage les élèves à rester en contact avec leurs tuteurs, afin que cette semaine de découverte soit la première pierre de leur réseau professionnel. Grâce à cette action, 80% des élèves revoient à la hausse leur ambition scolaire et professionnelle, après l’accompagnement de l’association. ViensVoirMonTaf est toujours à la recherche de nouveaux lieux de stage, et, en particulier, dans les milieux de la recherche scientifique, qui sont très attractifs auprès des collégiens. Alors n’hésitez plus : ouvrez-leur vos portes !

Deadline for applications Friday July 22
The 2022 NEON Observing School will be hosted by the Observatoire de Haute-Provence in Southern France October 2-15. This school that is funded by ORP provides hands-on observing experience on professional telescopes. During it the students will, together with an experienced tutor, go through all the steps from planning the observations to reducing and analysing the obtained data.
This school is mainly meant Ph.D students in astronomy who do not have prior observing experience with professional telescopes. MSc students in the late stages of their thesis work and young PostDocs can also be considered. The first half of the school comprises of lectures, and planning and carrying out observations. The lectures include, among other topics, modern telescopes, detectors and observing techniques. The second half of the school is dedicated to group work on reducing and analysing the obtained observations, with students presenting their results at the end of the school.
The local costs (accommodation and lunches) are covered by ORP, and some limited travel support is also available (and needs to be well justified and applied for on the application form).

4. Rencontres exobiologiques pour jeunes chercheurs
Nous avons le plaisir de vous convier à la 5ème édition des rencontres exobiologiques pour jeunes chercheurs (EJC’22). Cette nouvelle édition se tiendra les 17,18 et 19 octobre prochain à Paris. Ces rencontres sont dédiées aux jeunes chercheurs impliqués dans les domaines et thématiques de recherche s’interrogeant sur les origines et évolutions de la vie dans l’Univers. La limite de soumission d’abstracts est fixée au lundi 1er août et les inscriptions seront clôturées le 20 septembre. Le formulaire d’inscription, le template pour la soumission d’abstracts et d’autres informations pratiques sont à retrouver sur le site.

5. Fourth French-Mexican workshop « Enjoy the Universe ! »
France and Mexico maintain close relationships in science and astronomy in particular. This close collaboration has led to the decision to jointly develop and operate a robotic telescope, COLIBRI, specially designed for the study of the deep sky and the transient universe, in particular in the framework of the Franco-Chinese SVOM mission.
To formalize this partnership, France and Mexico have set up a Laboratoire International Associé (LIA)/International Research Program (IRP) named ERIDANUS. Its objective is to foster new collaborations and strengthen old ones around a number of themes, ranging from the study of exoplanets and the ISM, to the observation of the transient sky and the development of new instruments. This programme is supported by CNRS, CNES and AMU in France, and UNAM and CONACyT in Mexico.
The fourth workshop « Enjoy the Universe ! » will take place on September 27-30 in Puebla, México (https://www.lia-eridanus.org/home). The discussions will address the most recent advances of COLIBRI, which is entering now in its critical phase with an installation scheduled early 2023, as well as a broadening of the science studies that can be carried out with the telescope.

The workshop has funds to cover accommodation for the three nights (starting on 27 September), breakfasts, lunches, and the cultural visit to Cholula for 40 attendees. In the event that more people register, we will ask senior researchers to fund their own accommodation and meals.
Partial or total coverage of the travel of the French astronomers is also possible depending on the circumstances, with a priority given to the Phd students and postdocs (request to be submitted to stephane.basa@lam.fr and jean-luc.atteia@irap.omp.eu).
