3. EWASS Special Sessions on Galaxy clusters and AGNs

From 29th June - 3rd July, 2020, the European Astronomical Society Annual Meeting (formerly known as EWASS) 2020 will take place in Leiden, the Netherlands. As a part of this week, we are organizing 2 Special Sessions on

1- SS3 : Galaxy clusters at radio wavelengths : The aims for the next 5 years on Monday 29 June 2020 : https://eas.unige.ch/EAS2020/sessio...

2- SS4 : Radio-loud AGN : Advances in observations and theory driven by next generation surveys on Friday 3 July 2020 : https://eas.unige.ch/EAS2020/sessio...

We encourage the submission of abstracts on related topics from the radio and multi wavelength community for contributed talks and especially for e-posters.

The deadline for abstract submission is **2 March 2020**, abstracts can be submitted through the general EAS 2020 portal : https://eas.unige.ch/EAS2020/abstra...

Further details on these Special Sessions can be found at

4. The 9th Microquasar Workshop : Celebrating over 50 years of discovery

We are pleased to announce the “9th Microquasar Workshop : Celebrating over 50 years of discovery”, which will be held in Cagliari (Sardinia), Italy on 21-25 September 2020. It is the ninth in a series of conferences mainly devoted to microquasars but also covering relativistic jet sources in a broader context. It will also be an occasion to celebrate the 50 years since the discovery of variable radio emission from X-ray binaries.

Main topics :

- Multi-wavelength observations of Binaries (Galactic and Extragalactic)
- Binary evolution and merging compact objects
- Timing analysis
- Accretion-ejection connection at all scales
- Theory/simulations

5. Astronomy from the Moon : the next decades

Les 18 et 19 Mars 2020, colloque organisé par la Royal Society (Londres)

Overview : Scientific discussion meeting organised by Professor Joseph Silk FRS, Professor John Zarnecki, Professor Ian Crawford and Dr Martin Elvis.

Low-frequency radio astronomy from the radio-shielded lunar far side can have a unique science impact on cosmology potentially at modest cost. The permanently shadowed lunar craters may offer advantages for passive cooling of infrared telescopes. This meeting will examine these and other potential uses of the Moon as a platform for astronomical observations and the policy implications.

The schedule of talks and speaker biographies are available at

https://royalsociety.org/science-ev...

Speaker abstracts will be available closer to the meeting.

Recorded audio of the presentations will be available on the page after the meeting has taken place.

Meeting papers will be published in a future issue of Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A.
