2. Jeudi 3 décembre, le catalogue Gaia nouveau arrive !
A l’occasion de la publication de la première partie du troisième catalogue Gaia, Gaia EDR3 (Gaia Early Data Release 3), une journée est organisée conjointement par l’Observatoire de Paris, le CNES, UTINAM, OCA et LAB.
La journée se déclinera en trois temps :
de 11 à 12h : une conférence de Presse sur le catalogue Gaia EDR3 et ses premiers résultats ;
de 14 à 16h : une série de webinaires scientifiques sur quelques uns des très nombreux résultats scientifiques déjà obtenus par des équipes de l’Observatoire de Paris avec Gaia DR2

3. Voyage dans les climats des exoplanètes telluriques - Webinaire de la Société Française d’Exobiologie le 17 décembre à 17h
La Société Française d’Exobiologie vous invite à un nouveau webinaire qui aura lieu le Jeudi 17 Décembre de 17h à 18h.
A cette occasion, Martin Turbet, chercheur postdoctoral à l’Observatoire Astronomique de l’Université de Genève, et prix de thèse de la SFE 2020, nous parlera de l’habitabilité des exoplanètes telluriques.
Voyage dans les climats des exoplanètes telluriques
Avec la mise en service des télescopes géants de nouvelle génération, nous sommes à l’aube d’une nouvelle ère scientifique pour les exoplanètes. D’ici quelques années, il sera en effet possible – pour la première fois – de sonder la composition de l’atmosphère d’exoplanètes en apparence semblables (au moins en taille, masse et insolation) à la Terre.
Au cours de ma présentation, je vous ferai voyager — par ordinateur interposé — sur ces planètes. De l’exoplanète la plus proche de nous Proxima b, au fantastique cortège de sept planètes du système TRAPPIST-1. Je vous montrerai comment il est possible – à l’appui d’équations physiques – d’anticiper une grande partie des climats possibles de ces mondes exotiques. Planètes « homard », « cornue », « globule oculaire », ou encore planètes « Mochi » ?!?! Bienvenue dans l’univers étrange et fascinant des exoplanètes !

4. vEGU 2021 Call for Abstracts : PS2.1 Atmospheres and exospheres of terrestrial planets, satellites, and exoplanets

I’m pleased to announce that the abstract submission is open for vEGU 2021, held online on 19-30 April 2021.
The deadline for the abstract submission is 13 January 2021, 13:00 CET.
I would like to draw your attention to our session : Atmospheres and exospheres of terrestrial planets, satellites, and exoplanets
"This session primarily focuses on the neutral atmospheres of terrestrial bodies other than the Earth. This includes not only Venus and Mars, but also exoplanets with comparable envelopes and satellites carrying dense atmospheres such as Titan or exospheres such as Ganymede. We welcome contributions dealing with processes affecting the atmospheres of these bodies, from the surface to the exosphere. We invite abstracts concerning observations, both from Earth or from space, modeling and theoretical studies, or laboratory work. Comparative planetology abstracts will be particularly appreciated.”

5. National sessions in parallel of the "The magnetic field awakens" conference (this week)
Dear colleagues,
The virtual conference "The magnetic field awakens" is taking place this week (1st-4th of December). It will focus on the role of magnetic fields in the formation of stars, at all scales, from the galaxy down to the protostar. In parallel to the conference, that gathers 225 participants from 27 countries, we wish to have "national" sessions to pursue discussions and favour collaborations within our community. To that end, we will have two "coffee-breaks" from 11h30 to 12h15 on Wednesday and Thursday, and a 2h discussion on Friday, from 10h30 to 12h30. The registration to the conference is closed, but you can send me an email (fabien.louvet@cea.fr) if you wish to participate either to the conference or to the national discussions, or both.

6. New date for attending Cool Stars, Stellar Systems and the Sun Conference (CoolStars21). 4-9 July 2022
Dear colleagues,
We hope that this message finds you well. With the still ongoing COVID-19 pandemics it is now clear that it is best to postpone once more the organization of CS21. The SOC took the difficult decision to postpone until 2022 the conference. We now have a new date and will be delighted to welcome you for CoolStars21 in Toulouse in 2022, from the 4th to the 9th of July ! (https://coolstars21.github.io) Please pre-register if you wish to have news and updates about the conference (the pre-registration form will soon be available).
The CoolStars21 SOC also decided, due to the long gap between CS20 and CS21, to organize a 3-day remote conference, named CoolStars20.5, because so much exciting science has emerged since CS20. The CS20.5 virtual conference (http://coolstars20.cfa.harvard.edu/...) will be our next meeting point on March 2-4 2021, until we meet (in-person) at CS21 in Toulouse in 2022. Abstract submission for CS20.5 is now open, please visit the web site !
