1. Atelier d’astrostatistique, 8-9 décembre 2011, Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble
Ce premier atelier a pour objectif de recenser les activités en France autour de l’astrostatistique. L’idée est de faire un tour d’horizon des compétences et intérêts autour de cette discipline en rassemblant astrophysiciens et statisticiens, et de décider comment organiser cette communauté pour faciliter les échanges, collaborations et formations. Nous avons choisi quelques thèmes que nous savons déjà intéresser certaines équipes.
Nous invitons toute personne concernée de près ou de loin par un problème de statistique en astrophysique ou par un développement potentiel de statistique pour l’astrophysique à participer à cet atelier en s’incrivant sur le site web et en déposant un résumé et un texte court décrivant ses activités.
Les personnes intéressées mais non disponibles à ces dates peuvent envoyer un mail à Didier Fraix-Burnet pour constitution d’une liste de diffusion.

Ces rencontres s’adressent à tout étudiant francophone préparant une thèse en Sciences de la Terre et de l’Univers, Sciences Chimiques, Sciences de la Vie, Bioinformatique ou Épistemologie, et désirant acquérir une formation interdisciplinaire en exobiologie afin de compléter sa formation initiale et de pouvoir aborder les questions touchant aux origines de la vie sur Terre, à son évolution et à sa distribution dans l’Univers.

Le programme de RED’12 est complémentaire de celui de RED’11, il n’est cependant pas nécessaire d’y avoir assisté pour participer à cette nouvelle école.

Registration and Abstract Submission are now open for the workshop "Lithium in the Cosmos", to be held at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris, February 27-29, 2012. Please check our webpage and follow the instructions in order to submit your abstracts and register (notice these are two separate actions, and no registration will be made if you only submit your abstract).
Also notice that attendance will be limited, and that an early registration is advisable.
Deadline for abstract submission is december 31st 2011, deadline for fee payment (150 euros) is january 31st 2012.

This is the first announcement of a conference on "Circumstellar Dynamics at High Resolution" to be held February 27 to March 02, 2012. The venue of the meeting will be in Foz do Iguazu, Brazil.

5. Chalonge School Meudon Workshop 2012 : "Warm Dark Matter Galaxy Formation in Agreement with Observations", 6-8 June 2012, Observatoire de Paris-Meudon, Meudon
A Turning Point operated recently in the Dark Matter research : Warm Dark Matter (WDM) emerged impressively over Cold Dark Matter (CDM) as the leading Dark Matter candidate. WDM solves naturally the problems of CDM and agrees with the observations at small as well as large and cosmological scales. This workshop addresses WDM putting together astrophysical, cosmological and particle WDM, astronomical observations, theory and WDM numerical simulations which naturally reproduce the observations at all the scales. The Workshop addresses as well the experimental search for the WDM particle candidates (keV sterile neutrinos). Sessions last for three full days in the beautiful green Meudon campus of Observatoire de Paris. All sessions take place in the historic Château building, (built in 1706 by great architect Jules-Hardouin Mansart in orders by King Louis XIV for his son the Grand Dauphin).
