3. Conférence "New Challenges in Astrophysics with Gravitational Waves" - 24-26 juin 2015, Tenerife
EWASS 2015, Symposium S4, New Challenges in Astrophysics with Gravitational Waves, 24-26 juin 2015, La Laguna, Tenerife.
En 2015 les interféromètres gravitationnels de 2ème génération Advanced Virgo et LIGO seront mis en service. On s’attend à ce que les premières détections directes d’ondes gravitationnelles soient faites lorsqu’ils atteindront leur sensibilité nominale, probablement de coalescence de binaires (NS-NS, NS-BH). Certains de ces événements ont aussi des manifestations électromagnétiques, comme les sursauts gamma courts. Le propos de ce symposium est de réunir la communauté des astrophysiciens et celle de la physique des ondes gravitationnelles pour échanger des idées, discuter des manifestations des sources dans les deux domaines (EM et GW), les taux d’occurrence, et les stratégies de recherche et de suivi dans le domaine électromagnétique.

5. Focus meeting "Highlights in the exploration on small worlds" - 11-13 aout 2015, Honolulu
Focus meeting "Highlights in the exploration on small worlds" FM9 at next IAU-General Assembly, Honolulu, Aug 11-13, 2015.
This focus meeting will highlight results obtained from various ongoing space missions to small Solar System bodies (Rosetta, Dawn, New Horizons, Cassini-Huygens, HERSCHEL, Gaia, ...), as well as recent achievements obtained from other space facilities, including past space missions, ground-based telescopes, and geochemical analyses. The meeting aims at discussing aspects of the Solar System formation and evolution,through studies on the complex and rich evolution of the diverse small bodies of the Solar system. The meeting will also address the cosmo-chemistry and physical properties across the continuum of small bodies (asteroids, comets, planetary satellites, dwarf planets, main-belt comets), with the objective to better understand their interrelations in the context of planetary formation.

Grant applications are encouraged, in particular for young participants (PhD. and post-docs), before April 1st, 2015 (see this web page).
