1. IAU PhD Prize 2019 - reminder of the deadline for applications
Dear Colleague,
As you know the IAU has created in 2016 a new prize - the IAU PhD Prize. Each IAU Division has, once a year, the opportunity to award its own prize to the candidate it feels has carried out the most remarkable work in the previous year (i.e. a PhD Thesis which has been defended between the 16 December in the previous year, and 15 December this year).
The IAU PhD Prize is open to candidates from any country, regardless of whether the country has an IAU National Membership. The objective is to recognise outstanding scientific achievement in astrophysics around the world even at that early stage in the career.
I would like to count on you in alerting potential candidates, in your country or institution, for this opportunity since the deadline for applications for the 2019 IAU PhD Prize will be 15th December 2019.
The application form is available here : https://www.iau.org/submissions/phd....
The conditions and details for the application are available in the IAU webpage : https://www.iau.org/science/grants_....
I thank you in advance.
Best regards, Teresa

2. Cloud Academy II, 8-13 March 2020, Les Houches
We have opened the application for Cloud Academy II (8-13 March 2020, Les Houches) :
http://leap2010.wp.st-andrews.ac.uk... —> application form
Please complete the application form if you wish to apply for the school. No payment or commitment is required for the application. Some support may be available for selected participants (notably PhD students and CNRS staff if the school is endorsed as "Ecole thématique CNRS"). We anticipate notifying the selected participants by 1st December 2019. Selected participants will then be asked to confirm their participation latest by 15th December 2019.
Rationale : Clouds and hazes form in nearly every type of planetary atmospheres. They fundamentally impact the atmospheric structure and spectra of exoplanets and even influence their habitability. Intensive observing efforts have generated an abundance of data on clouds and hazes in exoplanets but modeling expertise in the community has lagged. This school will focus on physical models for cloud and haze formation in planetary atmospheres in different radiation environments, and include reviews on exoplanet observations and laboratory studies.

3. Conférence "Exobiologie Jeunes Chercheurs" (EJC) 18-20 novembre 2019, CNES, Paris
Deadline Abstract 06/10/2019
