You are kindly invited to prepare your proceedings, and send it to us as a single tar.gz file no later than October 12th 2014 to this e-mail address with the subject "SF2A 2014 Proceedings".

Le nouvel annuaire de la SF2A est en place depuis quelques mois (voir ici).
Nous vous rappelons que d’ici peu l’envoi des messages hebdomadaires de la SF2A se fera via une fonctionnalité de ce nouvel annuaire. Si vous n’êtes pas inscrits, vous ne recevrez plus ces annonces. Tout nouvel inscrit (qui aura choisi de recevoir la newsletter lors de son inscription) sera automatiquement rajouté à la liste de distribution des messages.

4. Rappel : SPIRou Science Meeting - 22-25 septembre 2014, Paris
Program and list of participants of the SPIRou Science meeting have been updated in the website of the meeting.
The meeting will start Monday 22 at 09:50, with coffee served from
09:30, and finish Thursday 25 Sept at 17:30. Details of how to get to
the meeting venue are available on the meeting website.

SPIRou recently passed its FDR (Final Design Review) and the project is now entering the construction and integration phase (with a first light at CFHT planned for 2017). Time is thus mature to start working on the overall science preparation for SPIRou, and in particular on the detailed definition of the SPIRou Legacy Survey (SLS), i.e., the 500-night survey on a 5-year timescale that will come along with the implementation of the instrument at CFHT. The SLS will be dedicated to the two main science goals of SPIRou (the quest for habitable Earth-like planets around M dwards, and the study of low-mass star & planet formation in the presence of magnetic fields) and to tightly connected topics (e.g., the activity and magnetic topologies of M dwarfs), but will also be very useful for a wide variety of other science programs of high interest for the whole community. Observations of the SLS are in particular intended (i) to accomplish selected large-scale community-defined scientific programs and (ii) to provide the community with an extensive, homogenous, well characterized, and high quality database having the potential for a wide range of long-lasting scientific applications.
The goal of thise first SPIRou Science Meeting is to initiate the overall science preparation for SPIRou and that of the SLS in particular, and to iterate with the community on how to distribute the work and associated responsibilities.

5. Rappel : colloque "Magnetic Fields from the Sun to Blackholes — In memory of Jean Heyvaerts" - 17-19 novembre 2014, Paris
A conference in memory of Jean Heyvaerts will be held from Nov. 17 to 19, 2014 at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris, France. The conference aims at giving an overview of the diverse fields to which he contributed with deep and novel ideas. Discussed topics will include magnetic structures from stellar to cosmological scales, reconnection, jets and accretion, relativistic plasmas and turbulence, and cosmic-ray acceleration.
The list of speakers and all practical information is available on the conference website.
The registration and abstract submission will close on *Sept. 19th*.
