1. Rappel : Appel d’offres ateliers - Journéees de la SF2A 2021
Pour préparer la Semaine de l’Astrophysique 2021, du 7 au 10 juin 2021 à Paris, la SF2A lance un appel à idées auprès de la communauté, des Programmes Nationaux (PN) et des Actions Spécifiques (AS), pour l’organisation des ateliers. Nous espérons que la situation sanitaire nous permettra alors d’organiser ces journées en présentiel, sinon nous travaillerons sur une solution en ligne. Les journées de la SF2A sont traditionnellement organisées le matin en sessions plénières et l’après-midi en ateliers.
Le conseil de la SF2A ouvre donc un appel à ateliers, s’adressant à la fois aux PN/AS/GDR et à la communauté dans son ensemble. Le conseil de la SF2A vous invite donc, en tant que PN/AS/GDR ou chercheur, à jour de sa cotisation, à proposer des ateliers via le formulaire en ligne :

Votre proposition devra comporter une description des objectifs scientifiques, la composition du SOC et, éventuellement, une liste d’orateurs possibles. Les ateliers proposés devront être planifiés sur une ou deux demi-journées (après-midi) chacun. La date limite de réception des propositions est fixée au 22 janvier 2021 minuit.

2. Appel d’offres "Actions de diffusion de la culture scientifique"
Appel d’offre 2021
La SF2A finance tous les ans quelques actions de diffusion de la culture scientifique. Les actions proposées peuvent prendre des formes diverses. Les critères suivants devront être pris en compte dans les dossiers :
le montant demandé à la SF2A doit être supérieur à 20% du budget total du projet (le saupoudrage de subventions n’est pas souhaitable et la SF2A veut apparaître comme un moteur du projet)
les projets de type récurrent (i.e. demandant le soutien de la SF2A sur plusieurs années, pour une même action) ne seront pas considérés
une attention toute particulière sera portée vers les idées originales.

Le conseil de la SF2A
L’Action Spécifique SKA-LOFAR vise à soutenir la dynamique scientifique et technique qui, avec LOFAR, les précurseurs ASKAP et MeerKAT, la mise en service de NenuFAR et la préparation de SKA, doit permettre de développer une large communauté radio basse et moyenne fréquence en France. Une grande nouveauté de cette nouvelle génération d’instruments est en effet que ceux-ci sont des télescopes généralistes qui intéressent potentiellement tous les champs de l’astrophysique et de nombreux chercheurs non coutumiers de la radioastronomie.
Une des actions de l’AS SKA-LOFAR est de financer toute activité d’animation scientifique/technique et d’organisation de la communauté radio allant dans ce sens (organisation ou participation à des écoles, ateliers, rencontres, actions structurantes en France, soutien aux activités relevant des ANO concernées …), tandis que l’activité scientifique proprement dite devrait préférentiellement venir d’autres budgets de recherche. Les demandes de matériel ne seront pas financées.
Pour l’année 2021, les propositions, suivant le modèle ci-dessous, doivent être adressées à Stéphane Corbel (stephane.corbel@cea.fr) pour le jeudi 21 janvier 2021 au plus tard. La sélection des propositions et l’attribution des financement seront rapidement effectués par le Conseil Scientifique de l’Action Spécifique. Le budget total pour cet appel d’offre est dans la fourchette de 15 à 18 k€. Les financements attribués devront être utilisés d’ici fin 2021.

2nd announcement to participate in the Online workshop "Galactic Centre and Inner Galaxy", February 10-12, 2021
We are happy to send this second invitation to participate in our Online workshop "Galactic Centre and Inner Galaxy" which is going to take place February 10-12, 2021. This workshop is run online and virtually in Heidelberg and is part of the COST action "Revealing the Milky Way with Gaia" supported by the European Union.

Workshop Registration is open until Jan. 10, 2021. No fees will be charged for participating, the number of participants however is limited.

5. vEGU21 Conference session PS4.3/ST4.4 : Planetary and Space weather, 19-30 April 2021
Deadline for abstract submission is Jan 13, 2021, 13:00 CET.
As conveners we would like to invite researchers in the planetary space weather community and in the planetary environments to submit abstracts to our session of the virtual conference “vEGU21 : Gather Online”
In the present session, we welcome abstracts from all planets’ upstream solar wind activities and their relation to planetary space weather, including especially magnetized bodies (like Mercury, the Earth, Saturn and Jupiter) as well as comparisons with unmagnetized bodies (Mars and Venus).
Since in these years many operative missions have among their science goals the planetary space weather, such as BepiColombo that will have soon two Venus Flybys and then six Mercury flybys, or Solar Orbiter that will have diverse Venus flybys as well, special focus of this session will be on Venus and Mercury and on the possible studies related to multi spacecraft observations.
In this frame, we welcome studies on :
magnetosphere-ionosphere coupling dynamics (and auroras where present) ;
the solar wind interaction with planets and moons
inter-comparisons of planetary environments ;
observations of space weather effects from space probes and Earth-based instrumentation ;
theoretical modeling and simulations, especially in view of measurement analysis and interpretation ;
potential impacts of space weathering on technological space systems.

I’m pleased to announce that the abstract submission is open for vEGU 2021, held online on 19-30 April 2021.
The deadline for the abstract submission is 13 January 2021, 13:00 CET.
I would like to draw your attention to our session : Atmospheres and exospheres of terrestrial planets, satellites, and exoplanets
"This session primarily focuses on the neutral atmospheres of terrestrial bodies other than the Earth. This includes not only Venus and Mars, but also exoplanets with comparable envelopes and satellites carrying dense atmospheres such as Titan or exospheres such as Ganymede. We welcome contributions dealing with processes affecting the atmospheres of these bodies, from the surface to the exosphere. We invite abstracts concerning observations, both from Earth or from space, modeling and theoretical studies, or laboratory work. Comparative planetology abstracts will be particularly appreciated.”
