1. Appel à candidatures pour le Laboratoire franco-chilien d’astronomie
Cet appel à candidatures permet de postuler à deux appels différents pour travailler au Laboratoire franco-chilien d’astronomie au Chili :
FCLA, UMI-3886, http://www.das.uchile.cl/FCLA-UMI/
1/ Un premier appel pour un maximum de deux postes à long terme pour un démarrage après avril 2021. Séjour minimum d’un an et pouvant aller jusqu’à 3 ans.
2/ Un deuxième appel indépendant pour des visites de courte durée (de plusieurs mois dans la limite d’une année) pour travailler et collaborer avec les chercheurs du FCLA.

2. Enquête Mothers in Science : date limite le 15 Décembre
Femmes & Sciences est partenaire d’une enquête internationale lancée par l’association Mothers in Science, pour étudier l’impact de la parentalité sur les carrières et les études en STEMM (sciences, technologie, ingénierie, mathématiques et médecine), et pour contribuer à identifier les obstacles que rencontrent les personnes ayant des enfants à charge.

L’enquête a déjà reçu 800 réponses pour la France (et en espère 8000 en tout de 83 pays différents). Nous voudrions atteindre au moins 1000 réponses pour la France, pour qu’une analyse spécifique des résultats français puisse être effectuée avec une meilleure statistique.
L’enquête est encore ouverte jusqu’au 15 décembre. Toutes et tous sont encouragé·es à y répondre et à la diffuser. Elle s’adresse aux hommes comme aux femmes, avec ou sans enfants, qui travaillent ou qui étudient dans n’importe quel secteur des STEMM, à n’importe quel stade de la carrière.

To celebrate the achievements of women scientists in the development of Nuclear Astrophysics throughout the next year 2021, we have prepared a beautiful calendar with the profiles of twelve outstanding, inspiring women and translated it into about 25 languages. 4. RAS Specialist Discussion meeting " Quasars and Galaxies on the Edge of Cosmic Reionisation", 12 Février 2021
Dear colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that a 1-day (virtual) RAS Specialist Discussion Meeting on "Quasars and Galaxies on the Edge of Cosmic Reionisation" will take place on February 12th, 2021, and that the abstract submission is now open.
This meeting will bring together the high-redshift community to summarise recent results in the literature and discuss the most exciting questions we can tackle now, in the lead up to the JWST era. This way, we will be optimally prepared to interpret the ground-breaking datasets to come, in a robust framework based on theory and a deep understanding of the current forefront of the field. The meeting will be broadly split into three topics focusing on different aspects of the evolution of the Universe in the first billion years :
The First Quasars - short review from Prof. Roberto Maiolino
Faint Galaxies and their Environments on the edge of the EoR - short review from Dr Steven Wilkins
The future : JWST and other upcoming facilities - short review from Dr Emma Curtis-Lake
We welcome abstract submission in any of these areas for a series of short talks throughout the day. Please follow the instructions on the RAS website :
