2. ESO Users Committee Poll 2022
The Users Committee (UC) represents ESO’s astronomical community forming a direct link between the users and ESO. On an annual basis we ask users for feedback through our User Committee Poll :

This year there is a special focus on “La Silla Paranal Observatory visitor mode and remote participation in observations". The poll is open until Friday March 25th, 2022.
(If you experience a timeout problem when filling in the poll, please empty the cache of your browser. This is a well-known cookie problem from LimeSurvey.)
It is an anonymous survey, and the answers will be only seen by the UC members who will use them as input for discussions during the annual meeting of the UC and ESO scheduled at the end of April.
During the UC meeting updates from ESO and feedback from the user community are exchanged and openly discussed. The meeting webpage :

includes a record of the last meeting with recommendations that will be discussed.
The User Committee acts as an advisory body to the ESO Director General on matters related to the performance, scientific access, operation, and user interfaces to the La Silla Paranal Observatory and ALMA. 4. Ecole d’été Euclid 2022, les inscriptions sont ouvertes !
Organisée par Alain Blanchard et Rodolphe Clédassou, l’école Euclid "la science des futurs grands relevés cosmologiques" accueille les étudiants en thèse, y compris ceux qui ne l’auraient pas encore commencé à l’été 2022, les jeunes chercheurs, les post-docs et les permanents. Les sessions se déroulent sur 3 ans durant lesquels les participants suivent 3 cycles (1 pour les nouveaux, 2 pour les avancés et 3 pour les experts).

5. Registration is open for the Athena School on X-ray spectroscopy, 20-24 June 2022
Registration is open for the first edition of the Athena School : “The Universe in the era of spatially resolved, high-resolution, X-ray spectroscopy”. This CNRS thematic school will be held from the 20th to the 24th of June 2022 in Toulouse, France. It is open to the whole French astronomical community, regardless of prior experience in high energy astrophysics.
Athena is ESA’s next generation X-ray observatory. The aim of the school is to provide participants with knowledge of the scientific objectives of Athena, foster collaboration in the early stage of their careers, stimulate inter- and multi-disciplinary collaborations, and develop their skills in high-resolution X-ray spectroscopy.
The deadline to register is 30 April 2022. Each application will be reviewed by the Scientific Organisation Committee.

6. Reminder : International school on exoplanets atmospheres
The school Exo-atmospheres (Ecole des Houches, September 12-23) is still open for pre-registration until March 31.
The school is dedicated to present many aspects of the theory and observation of exoplanetary atmospheres - applications to JWST and Ariel observations will be discussed. C’est avec tristesse que nous avons appris le décès de Guy Moreels, survenu le 3 mars à l’âge de 78 ans. Spécialiste des atmosphères planétaires et cométaires il avait fait l’essentiel de sa carrière comme Professeur à l’Université de Franche-Comté en développant ses recherches à l’Observatoire de Besançon.
