1. 2011 PERC Planetary Geology Field Symposium, 5-6 November 2011, Kyushu, Japan
The Planetary Exploration Research Center (PERC) of Chiba Institute of Technology will host the first planetary geology field symposium in Asia for presenting results and exchanging ideas among planetary scientists and terrestrial geologists about terrestrial analog studies, in a western Japanese island (Kyushu) of extremely diverse volcanic landforms and active geothermal features. The symposium will be open also to engineers with interest in instrument development for planetary missions.

Symposium : 5-6 November 2011 at the Kitakyushu International Conference Center, Japan
Field Trip : 7-9 November 2011 to a volcanic zone in the central Kyushu island
Abstracts are due 31 August 2011.

2. "Diversity of Planetary Atmospheres", 16-20 Jan 2012, Aspen, Colorado, USA
We would like to call your attention to the conference "Diversity of Planetary Atmosphere"¡ to be held in Aspen, Colorado, from 16th to 20th January, 2012. We invite you to submit an abstract for a proposed talk or poster on your own research. The review talks will cover topics related to the atmosphere of the Earth, Solar System planets, and extra-solar planets, with a broad view of planetary atmospheres in general. The meeting is designed to bring together experts in astrophysics, planetary science and climatology.
The conference will take place at the Center for Physics in the mountain resort of Aspen, Colorado.

3. "Positrons in astrophysics", 20-23 Marcg 2012, Mürren, Bernese Oberland, Switzerland
Positrons have become a major player in physics and astrophysics, spanning very disparate fields from galactic astrophysics to semi-conductor and surface physics, not to mention medical and industrial applications. A key aim of this meeting is to bring scientists working in the disciplines of atomic, molecular, surface and materials physics together with colleagues whose interests lie in various astrophysical fields. While the emphasis will be on topics directly related to positrons in physics and in astronomy, the scope of the workshop will also include other forms of antimatter both in the laboratory and in space. Review talks on a variety of antimatter topics will set the context and summarize the current state of the art in the different fields, while more specialized presentations will report on the latest developments. The objectives of the workshop are to identify the specific issues to be tackled next in each domain and to encourage future progress through interactions between the different research areas within and beyond positron science.

4. Symposium : "From Atoms to Pebbles : Herschel’s view of Star and Planet Formation", 20-23 March 2012, Grenoble
Approaching the three year anniversary of the launch of Herschel, the French Space Agency (CNES) and the Institut de Planétologie et d’Astrophysique de Grenoble (IPAG), are organizing an exceptional Symposium : "From Atoms to Pebbles : Herschel’s view of Star and Planet Formation" (website here)
This event will be held over 3.5 days, from 20th to 23rd of March 2012, in Grenoble (the heart of the French Alps), France. The scientific themes of the symposium will be centred around the physical and chemical evolution of gas and dust in star and planet forming environments and on the impact of the low-and high-mass star formation processes on the surroundings. Specific sessions will be dedicated to :
The pre-collapse phase,
The protostellar phase
Planet-forming circumstellar disks,
Debris disks, together with their connection to extra-solar planets.
