1. Renouvellement du conseil de la SF2A – Date limite 9 avril 2026, 12h CEST
La Société Française d’Astronomie et d’Astrophysique (SF2A), association loi 1901, a pour but de contribuer au développement et au rayonnement de l’astronomie en France et d’y associer l’ensemble des spécialistes d’astronomie concourant à ce même objectif. Sous le haut patronage de l’Académie des Sciences, elle coordonne les actions et assure la représentation de la communauté française dans l’Union Astronomique Internationale (IAU) ainsi qu’à l’European Astronomical Society (EAS). La SF2A est administrée par un Conseil d’Administration de 12 membres élus pour 4 ans par l’Assemblée Générale au scrutin secret, uninominal, majoritaire à un tour.
La moitié du conseil de la SF2A doit être renouvelée en 2026, soit six personnes. Les membres du Conseil dont le mandat arrive à terme sont : Olivia Venot (Présidente), Kévin Baillié (Trésorier), Julien Malzac (Vice-Président International), Nadège Lagarde, Rhita-Maria Ouazzani (resp. Commission Femmes & Astronomie), Matthieu Bethermin (Webmaster).
Nous sollicitons dès aujourd’hui des candidatures. Sont éligibles les personnes à jour de leur cotisation SF2A en 2026. Une candidature doit être accompagnée d’une profession de foi d’une page maximum au format pdf.
Les candidatures sont à envoyer au secrétariat de la SF2A (secretariat@sf2a.eu) avec l’objet « Candidature SF2A ». La date limite de réception est fixée au jeudi 9 avril 12h CEST.
Le vote électronique sera mis en place durant la deuxième quinzaine d’avril et les résultats seront annoncés lors de l’Assemblée Générale, pendant les journées annuelles de la SF2A qui se tiendront à Grenoble du 22 au 26 juin 2026.

2. Journées SF2A 2026 – Date limite de soumission d’abstracts 10 avril 2026
Nous vous rappelons que les journées de la SF2A 2026 se tiendront du 22 au 26 juin 2026 à Grenoble. Toutes les informations concernant les ateliers, les sessions plénières et les différents aspects pratiques sont sur le site web suivant : https://journees.sf2a.eu. Le programme définitif sera communiqué le 5 mai.
Les inscriptions sont ouvertes jusqu’au 2 juin inclus pour une participation en présentiel (y compris pour les étudiants, doctorants, porteurs d’ateliers, orateurs de sessions plénières), et jusqu’au 12 juin inclus pour une participation en ligne. Le tarif réduit est disponible jusqu’au 12 mai inclus.
La date limite pour soumettre un abstract est le 10 avril (inclus).

3. Article blanc sur le projet de l’European Solar Telescope
Following the conclusions of the EST France 2025 workshop (held in Paris in June 2025; https://est-france-2025.sciencesconf.org/), a white paper has been drafted to highlight the importance of the European Solar Telescope (EST; https://est-east.eu/), the only European project of this half-century for a next-generation 4.2-meter solar telescope.
The paper, titled « White paper on the relevance of the European Solar Telescope (EST) for the French heliophysics community, » is available at the following address: https://hal.science/hal-05553853.
This white paper, primarily authored by young French solar physicists, is co-signed by over sixty members of the French research community, working across some fifteen astrophysics research units. It presents various scientific cases demonstrating how EST will significantly advance several key themes in heliospheric physics, in which most French laboratories are involved. The paper particularly emphasizes its relevance to Sun-Earth relations and space weather, a field in which the French community excels. It also shows how EST will contribute to major advances in solar wind connectivity models and improved solar activity forecasting. The paper concludes by explaining why EST will be a driving force for the entire French and European heliophysics and astrophysics communities.

4. Conference Origins 2026, July 6-10, 2026, Paris (France) – Abstract submission deadline demain 31 mars
Origins 2026 is an international conference jointly organized by the International Society for the Study of the Origins of Life – The International Astrobiology Society (ISSOL) and the Astrobiology Commission of the International Astronomical Union (IAU). It will take place from 6 to 10 July 2026 in Paris, France. The Abstract submission deadline is coming very soon (March 31, 2026).

Origins 2026 will bring together experts from a wide range of disciplines—including chemistry, biology, planetary science, and astrophysics—to explore the origins of life and planetary habitability on Earth and beyond. Hosted at the prestigious Sorbonne Université, the scientific program will highlight interdisciplinary research on the transition from non-living to living systems, early Earth environments, evolutionary processes, and the search for biosignatures in the universe.
The scientific program will feature the latest advances in prebiotic chemistry, the evolution of early life, and habitability within the Solar System and on exoplanets, alongside philosophical and historical perspectives. Special emphasis will be placed on the contributions of early-career researchers, with dedicated opportunities for visibility and exchange. This landmark event aims to strengthen international collaborations and advance our understanding of the emergence of life.
Participants from French laboratories or institutions can benefit from reduced rates (co-funding from the PEPR Origins – ANR):

5. Atelier Détecteurs pour l’astrophysique, 24 juin, 2026, SF2A (Grenoble France) – Appel à contributions
Pendant la semaine de l’Astrophysique 2026 à Grenoble, le LabEx FOCUS organise une session « détecteurs » (session 18) le mercredi 24 juin de 14h à 18h appelée Systèmes avancés de détection pour l’astrophysique. Cette session est ouverte à toute contribution liée aux détecteurs, que ce soit du visible au millimétrique, ainsi qu’à leurs défis technologiques, mais aussi aux applications astrophysiques. Nous appelons un maximum de scientifiques intéressés par les détecteurs en tant qu’usagers ou en tant que fournisseurs, en particulier les jeunes et les experts, à présenter leurs travaux. 6. Atelier Gemini Collaborations Pro-Am, 25 juin, 2026, SF2A (Grenoble France) – RAPPEL
Le recensement des projets de collaborations et des moyens pour développer la mise en réseau des professionnels et des amateurs se tiendra le jeudi 25 juin après-midi, session S21 des Journées SF2A 2026 à Grenoble.

7. Conference CHASES 2026, September 21-25, 2026 (Elba) – Extended deadline for abtracts
This is the second announcement for the conference Charting the future of stellar and exoplanet spectroscopy (CHASE2026), co-organised by INAF, the European Southern Observatory (ESO), and the Observatoire de la Côte d’Azur (OCA) to be held in Procchio (Isola d’Elba, Italy) from September 21-25, 2026.

8. 13th IRAM Millimeter interferometry School, Septembre 28 – Octobre 3, 2026, Grenoble (France) – First Announcement
The pre-registration of the 13th IRAM Interferometry School is now open!
The IRAM Interferometry School is offered every two years and it is intended for PhD students, post-docs and scientists who want to learn about interferometry and data reduction techniques at millimeter wavelengths, centred on the NOEMA interferometer and its new capabilities. A visit to the NOEMA Observatory will also be organised.
The IRAM headquarters in Grenoble will undergo significant renovations starting this summer. Therefore, unlike previous editions, the school this year will be held at the Hotel Mercure Grenoble Centre Porte des Alpes in Grenoble, in the week of September 28 – October 3, 2026.
