1. Workshop Intrinsic Alignment, 18-19 June, 2026, IAP, Paris (France)

We are organizing a small workshop on intrinsic alignments on June 18–19 at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris (expected around 20 participants). The event will bring together researchers working on intrinsic alignments in cosmology and astrophysics. 

The program will include ample time for in-depth presentations and discussions on a range of topics, including:

• Impact of intrinsic alignments on weak lensing
• Intrinsic alignments within the cosmic web
• Probing large-scale structure with intrinsic alignments
• Current and future observations of intrinsic alignments

2. Training School: Mars and the Earthlings, 8-13 October, 2026, Obernai (France): application open

The  training school « Mars and the Earthlings: can we , and should we, go to Mars »  is organised in Obernai, France, from the 8th to the 13th of October 2026  https://europeanastrobiology.eu/training-school-mars-and-the-earthlings-can-we-and-should-we-go-to-mars/

While we are hoping to accommodate all requests, if the number of applications exceeds the capacity of the venue, applicants will be selected by the organising committee. The main selection criteria will be profile diversity (background, profession), motivations for participating in the training school, and country of residence, so as to ensure a diverse group of participants.

Successful applicants will be notified by June 15th, and you will then be asked to complete the registration form. The payment of the fees will be due by June 30th.

3. Journées Scientifiques Galaxies de l’ATCG 2026″, 12-14 October , 2026, IAP/ObsPM, Paris (France): abstract submission deadline

The deadline for abstract submission for the “Journées Scientifiques Galaxies de l’ATCG 2026” is fast approaching: 29 May 2026.

The French Action Thématique de Cosmologie et Galaxies (ATCG) organizes a national conference on Oct 12-14 2026 at the Institut d’Astrophysique de Paris (IAP) and Observatory of Paris (ObsPM) on galaxy formation and evolution, nearby galaxies, and Galactic archeology.

We particularly encourage researchers funded by the ATCG, students, postdocs, and young researchers in France or with ties to the French community to present their work. Registration is free of charge. We have limited funds to support travel to Paris for those giving presentations — please ask when registering if needed.

4. Appel à bénévole édition 2026 de SpaceBus France

L’association SpaceBus France est à la recherche d’animateurs et d’animatrices bénévoles pour faire découvrir l’astronomie au grand public du 28 juillet au 8 août 2026.

Le principe est d’animer un événement autour de l’astronomie dans une ville différente chaque jour, sur des places publiques pour présenter une dizaine d’animations et faire ainsi découvrir l’astronomie, l’espace et les métiers scientifiques au grand public.

Pour notre septième édition, nous serons entre Bordeaux et Bayonne. Nous avons besoin d’une dizaine de bénévoles.

Pour information, les jours d’animations, les horaires seront de 14h à 23h30 avec une pause pour le dîner. Pour découvrir nos animations et les éditions précédentes, vous pouvez consulter notre site internet www.spacebusfrance.fr.

Alors que vous soyez doctorant-e, ingénieur-e de recherche, ingénieur-e d’étude, post-doctorant-e, chercheur-e, professeur-e, historien-ne ou philosophe des sciences… Inscrivez-vous pour venir animer à nos côtés cet été !

Pour vous inscrire, merci de remplir le formulaire d’inscription. Les inscriptions se terminent le 31 mai. Nous vous contacterons ensuite début juin.

Les interventions sont sur la base du bénévolat. Toutes les dépenses sur place ainsi que le trajet sont pris en charge par SpaceBus France. Casquettes, tee-shirts, goodies et bonne ambiance seront également distribués !
