    La Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Fran\u00e7aise d\u2019Astronomie et d\u2019Astrophysique (SF2A), association loi 1901, a pour but de contribuer au d\u00e9veloppement et au rayonnement de l\u2019astronomie en France et d\u2019y associer l\u2019ensemble des sp\u00e9cialistes d\u2019astronomie concourant \u00e0 ce m\u00eame objectif. Sous le haut patronage de l\u2019Acad\u00e9mie des Sciences, elle coordonne les actions et assure la repr\u00e9sentation de la communaut\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise dans l\u2019Union Astronomique Internationale (IAU) ainsi qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019European Astronomical Society (EAS).     La SF2A est administr\u00e9e par un Conseil d\u2019Administration de 12 membres \u00e9lus pour 4 ans par l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e G\u00e9n\u00e9rale au scrutin secret, uninominal, majoritaire \u00e0 un tour.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    La moiti\u00e9 du conseil de la SF2A doit \u00eatre renouvel\u00e9e en 2024, soit six personnes. Les membres du Conseil dont le mandat arrive \u00e0 terme sont : Arnaud Siebert (secr\u00e9taire), Mamadou N\u2019Diaye (Tr\u00e9sorier adjoint), Danielle Briot, Eric Lagadec, Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Pitout (Responsable formation), Johan Richard (Responsable R\u00e9seaux sociaux).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nous sollicitons d\u00e8s aujourd\u2019hui des candidatures. Sont \u00e9ligibles les personnes \u00e0 jour de leur cotisation SF2A en 2024. Une candidature doit \u00eatre accompagn\u00e9e d\u2019une profession de foi d\u2019une page maximum au format pdf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Les candidatures sont \u00e0 envoyer au secr\u00e9tariat de la SF2A (secretariat@sf2a.eu<\/a>) avec l\u2019objet \u00ab Candidature SF2A \u00bb. La date limite de r\u00e9ception est fix\u00e9e au vendredi 12 avril midi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Le vote \u00e9lectronique sera mis en place durant la deuxi\u00e8me quinzaine d\u2019avril et les r\u00e9sultats seront annonc\u00e9s lors de l\u2019Assembl\u00e9e G\u00e9n\u00e9rale, pendant les journ\u00e9es annuelles de la SF2A qui se tiendront \u00e0 Marseille du 4 au 7 juin 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    This survey aims to assess the impact of various factors such as gender identity, sexual orientation, disability situations, and socio-economic backgrounds on access to careers in astronomy and astrophysics, and on career progression within our community.
    Through your participation, we hope to identify the challenges and needs faced in our community, to become collectively aware of them, and to propose measures to improve the situation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. CPJ SKA \/ Big data \/ IA \u00e0 l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Strasbourg \/ ObAS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    L\u2019universit\u00e9 de Strasbourg s’appr\u00eate \u00e0 ouvrir une Chaire de Professeur Junior (CPJ) sur un projet intitul\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0Grandes masses de donn\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re de SKA\u00a0\u00bb, qui sera men\u00e9 au sein de l\u2019Observatoire astronomique de Strasbourg (ObAS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Le profil recherch\u00e9 est celui d\u2019une personne de haut niveau, ayant d\u00e9j\u00e0 une forte exp\u00e9rience internationale autour du big data, en particulier en astronomie. Elle sera amen\u00e9e \u00e0 appliquer \u00e0 l\u2019exploitation des cubes de donn\u00e9es g\u00e9n\u00e9r\u00e9s par SKA les d\u00e9veloppements effectu\u00e9s dans le domaine des math\u00e9matiques et de l\u2019informatique autour du big data et\/ou de l\u2019intelligence artificielle.
    Le service d’enseignement portera, entre autres, sur la science des donn\u00e9es, et pourra \u00eatre effectu\u00e9 au sein du parcours de master \u00ab\u00a0Astrophysics and data science\u00a0\u00bb g\u00e9r\u00e9 par l\u2019ObAS et\/ou dans d’autres composantes de l\u2019universit\u00e9 avec lesquelles l\u2019observatoire astronomique entretient des relations \u00e9troites.

    5. First ESA Directorate of Science Townhall, May 28, online<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The first ESA Directorate of Science Townhall will be held virtually on 28 May, from 9:30 to 12:30 CEST.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The townhall will offer the opportunity for direct exchange between the Directorate\u2019s executive and the broader scientific community, including current and future users of ESA\u2019s missions. It will allow to introduce the long-term vision of ESA\u2019s Science programme and provide a channel to listen to the views, ambitions, and requests from the scientific community<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    To do so, the townhall will provide an introduction to ESA\u2019s Science Programme, which is co-developed in a bottom-up approach from within the member states. This will be followed by discussions of the advisory structure of the Directorate, the status of the Cosmic Vision programme, including LISA and NewAthena, and the status of and plans for Voyage 2050. We will further discuss ways in which community members of different career levels can benefit from and engage with the Science Programme, with ample time for Q&A and feedback from the community with myself, my leadership team, and key members of the advisory structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The event will be held fully online to ensure maximum accessibility. More information, including a possibility to register, will follow in the next weeks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. Summer school, Observing with Adaptive Optics, September 29th – October 4th, 2024, Observatoire Haute Provence (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We are organizing a (late) summer school – Observing with Adaptive Optics – from 29th September to 4th October 2024, at Observatoire Haute Provence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Among others, the school will include observations with PAPYRUS at the 1.52m telescope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. Ecole Evry Schatzman, Les disques et la formation plan\u00e9taire \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e8re JWST et ELT, 30 septembre – 4 octobre, 2024, Roscoff (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We are pleased to announce the opening of registrations for the 2024 edition of the Evry Schatzman School devoted to \u00ab\u00a0Disks and planetary formation in the era of JWST and ELT\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EES2024 is a CNRS thematic school for continuing education open to any researcher (early stage ot experienced) wishing to learn about proto-planetary disks and planetary formation, and\/or with a view to preparing observing programs on the major existing or future instruments in the discipline, notably the JWST and the first-generation ELT instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The school will take place from September 30 to October 4, 2024 at the CNRS biological station in Roscoff, Brittany.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Registration is open from April 5, 2024 to June 24, 2024. The number of participants is limited to 40.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    8. Journ\u00e9es Scientifiques PNCG \u201cGalaxies\u201d, 7-9 octobre, 2024, Lyon (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The French Programme National de Cosmologie et Galaxies (PNCG, https:\/\/pncg.lam.fr\/<\/a>) organizes a national conference on Oct 7-9 2024 in Lyon on galaxy formation and evolution, nearby galaxies, and Galactic archeology.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We particularly encourage researchers funded by the PNCG, students, postdocs, and young researchers in France or with ties to the French community to present their work. Registration is free of charge. We have limited funds to support travel to Lyon — please ask when registering if needed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
