    The International Gemini Observatory seeks a Director to lead the observatory in the 2020s and beyond. Gemini is undergoing an evolution that will transform its suite of instrumentation and adaptive optics capabilities. We are seeking an individual with experience in leading international teams and managing scientific laboratories.     4. IAU General Assembly in Cape Town<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    In less than one month, we will be in Cape Town and online to welcome our astronomy global community to one of the most awaited General Assemblies — and already historical — the first GA in the African Continent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The National Organising Committee has gone above and beyond to provide all participants with a warm welcome and an unforgettable experience, making Cape Town feel like home from the 6 to the 15 of August. This will also be a fully hybrid conference that enables virtual participation from anywhere in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Cherenkov Astronomy Data School (CADS 2024), October 14-18 2024, Paris (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Nous avons le plaisir d’organiser une \u00e9cole d’une semaine sur l’astronomie des rayons gamma \u00e0 l’Observatoire de Paris, con\u00e7ue pour les doctorants\/postdocs\/chercheurs d\u00e9sireux d’apprendre sur les donn\u00e9es de l’astronomie des rayons gamma et les d\u00e9fis sp\u00e9cifiques des observations Cherenkov au sol et de l’analyse des donn\u00e9es de haute \u00e9nergie. L’outil d’analyse scientifique Gammapy, choisi par\/pour l’observatoire international CTAO (Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory), sera pr\u00e9sent\u00e9. Les conf\u00e9rences et les travaux pratiques (d\u00e9butants et utilisateurs exp\u00e9riment\u00e9s) auront lieu sur deux sites de l’Observatoire de Paris, \u00e0 Paris et \u00e0 Meudon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    We are delighted to invite you to the national \u00ab\u00a0Exobiology Young Researchers Conference\u00a0\u00bb (EJC), taking place from November 4th to 6th, 2024 at Universit\u00e9 Paris Cit\u00e9, Campus Grands Moulins, just before the day of the Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Fran\u00e7aise d’Exobiologie!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    EJC brings together young researchers (from Master’s to Postdoctoral levels) engaged in the study of the origin of life, its evolution, and detection, both on Earth and in the Universe. The aim of this conference is to foster interdisciplinary exchange, where you can present your research, share ideas, and establish collaborations. Biologists, chemists, physicists, astronomers, geologists, your contributions on the following topics are all welcome:
    – Emergence of life and prebiotic chemistry
    – Space exploration and observations
    – Persistence and extremophiles
    – Habitability: from Earth to Exoplanets

Son but : l\u2019\u00e9tude des sursauts gamma, d\u2019une fa\u00e7on novatrice. Ces ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes extr\u00eamement \u00e9nerg\u00e9tiques, et encore emprunts de myst\u00e8res, cinquante ans apr\u00e8s leur d\u00e9couverte, nous permettent d\u2019explorer la physique des jets, la formation des \u00e9l\u00e9ments lourds dans l\u2019Univers, les premi\u00e8res galaxies et \u00e9toiles. Dans ce webinaire, on vous dit tout sur la mission SVOM, et comment elle va nous permettre d\u2019avancer dans la compr\u00e9hension des sursauts gamma et dans leur utilisation pour comprendre l\u2019\u00e9volution stellaire et l\u2019enrichissement chimique de l\u2019Univers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
