    Un poste d’ing\u00e9nieur ou astronome r\u00e9sident fran\u00e7ais sera vacant au T\u00e9lescope Canada-France- Hawai\u2018i (TCFH) en 2026. Le TCFH est un observatoire situ\u00e9 sur la grande \u00eele d\u2019Hawai\u2018i (Etats-Unis), bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Waimea et op\u00e9rant un t\u00e9lescope de 3.6 m de diam\u00e8tre situ\u00e9 au sommet du Maunakea. Le TCFH est une unit\u00e9 d\u2019appui et de recherche du CNRS (UAR2208).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Suivant le \u00ab moratoire \u00bb annonc\u00e9 le 20 f\u00e9vrier 2025 par Antoine Petit sur le projets de \u00ab Laboratoires Clefs \u00bb au CNRS et son appel aux Sections, Commissions InterDisciplinaires et Conseils Scientifiques des Instituts du CNRS \u00e0 formuler des propositions, les quatre Sections de l\u2019INSU (17, 18, 19 et 30) et son Conseil Scientifique ont formul\u00e9 une s\u00e9rie de recommandations, transmises \u00e0 M. Petit les 16 et 17 juin 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    4. Call for Expression of Interest to become a member of the ESA Science Advisory Structure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    I am pleased to invite you to respond to the call for expressions of interest to become a member of the Astronomy Working Group (AWG)\/Solar System and Exploration Working Group (SSEWG) and\/or Space Science Advisory Committee (SSAC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    5. Nominations for the 2026 Kavli Prize in astrophysics<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    We are pleased to invite the IAU community to submit nominations for the 2026 Kavli Prize in Astrophysics \u2013 which awards a $1 million prize for basic research breakthroughs that have fundamentally transformed our field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The prize honours scientists for outstanding achievements in advancing our knowledge and understanding of the origin, evolution, and properties of the universe, including the fields of cosmology, astrophysics, astronomy, planetary science, solar physics, space science, astrobiology, astronomical and astrophysical instrumentation, and particle astrophysics. Nominations are open to everyone but self-nominations are not accepted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Nominations are reviewed by Selection Committees appointed by The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters, comprising experts put forth by leading international academies and other equivalent scientific organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    6. RAMSES School 2025<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    The RAMSES SNO<\/a> is pleased to announce its second RAMSES school. This school will take place in Institut d’astrophysique de Paris (IAP) on 22-23 Oct. 2025 and is designed to provide practical training for new users of the RAMSES code who wish to learn how to design and run simulations for their science projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The school will provide a core training on basic usage of HPC environments and fundamental instruction on obtaining, compiling, and running the RAMSES code in parallel. Participants will then focus on practical applications through hands-on projects. A list of projects spanning diverse areas (dense-core collapse, forced-turbulence, idealized galaxies, and cosmological volumes) will be provided for participants to select according to their scientific interests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The training will be supervised by Corentin Cadiou, Yohan Dubois, Matthias Gonzalez, Ugo Lebreuilly, and Maxime Trebitsch. Participants will have access to computational resources from the local computer center at IAP (Infinity).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    The school can host a limited number of participants and in order to make a fair selection, we ask candidates to provide upon registration a short description of the project they have in line with RAMSES, and a very short summary of their experience in numerical astrophysics. We will close registration on Sept. 15, 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Note that the school is open to anyone (PhD students, postdocs, engineers or faculty).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    There is no registration fee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    7. PNP Winter School 2026 \u201cPlanetary Atmospheres and Interiors: A Two-Way Connection\u201d, 9-13 Feb 2026, Les Houches (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    Mark your calendar! Our PNP winter school 2026 in Les Houches will focus on the link between planetary interiors and atmospheres, taking advantage of the expertise in both studies of the interior of the Earth and of planetary atmospheres, in the solar system and for exoplanets. A comprehensive knowledge of planetary composition is essential to understand planet formation and evolution. Since planetary interiors are largely inaccessible, their compositions must often be inferred from atmospheric observations. In this context, deciphering the complex mechanisms linking a planet\u2019s interior to its atmosphere is a key scientific challenge. This winter school will explore these interior\u2013atmosphere interactions across a wide range of planetary environments. We will address both physical and chemical aspects of planetary evolution \u2014 from the contraction of gas giants to the effects of volcanism and outgassing on the atmospheres of rocky planets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Une conf\u00e9rence nationale organis\u00e9e par l’INSU et le CEA et pilot\u00e9e par la CSAA est pr\u00e9vue du 19 au 21 mai 2026 dans l\u2019amphith\u00e9\u00e2tre Evry Schatzman \u00e0 Meudon sur la pr\u00e9paration de l’exploitation du Square Kilometer Array (SKA) par et pour l’ensemble de la communaut\u00e9 INSU-AA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Rationale:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Le Square Kilometre Array (SKA) ouvre de nouveaux horizons \u00e0 m\u00eame de r\u00e9volutionner notre compr\u00e9hension de l’Univers, depuis l\u2019aube cosmique, les grandes structures et les galaxies jusqu\u2019au Syst\u00e8me Solaire en passant par le milieu interstellaire, les \u00e9toiles et objets compacts, les (exo-)plan\u00e8tes, le Soleil et les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes astrophysiques transitoires. Alors que nous nous approchons de la pleine op\u00e9rationnalit\u00e9, il est crucial pour la communaut\u00e9 astrophysique fran\u00e7aise de consolider son implication, de favoriser les synergies entre chercheurs de diff\u00e9rentes expertises et de se pr\u00e9parer strat\u00e9giquement aux opportunit\u00e9s scientifiques que cet instrument apportera. Cette conf\u00e9rence pilot\u00e9e par la CSAA a pour vocation de s\u2019ouvrir largement \u00e0 toute la communaut\u00e9 qui pourrait \u00eatre int\u00e9ress\u00e9e par l\u2019exploitation de l’observatoire SKA, et les personnes non-expertes en radioastronomie sont \u00e0 ce titre particuli\u00e8rement bienvenues. Il s\u2019agira de rassembler l’ensemble de la communaut\u00e9 fran\u00e7aise qui pourrait b\u00e9n\u00e9ficier du SKA. Nous pr\u00e9voyons ainsi \u00e0 la fois des pr\u00e9sentations g\u00e9n\u00e9rales et des expos\u00e9s plus cibl\u00e9s (couvrant aussi les synergies avec d\u2019autres observatoires sol et espace ainsi que la th\u00e9orie), des discussions et des d\u00e9monstrations d\u2019utilisation. Les personnes en post-doctorat ou en th\u00e8se de doctorat sont \u00e9galement tout particuli\u00e8rement bienvenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
