Prix Gemini collaboration pro-am 2026<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We have the great pleasure to announce that the 2026 Gemini prize is awarded to the project BSN \u00ab Binary Systems of South and North \u00bb. Appel \u00e0 candidature pour la direction du LUPM<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Le Laboratoire Univers et Particules de Montpellier (LUPM, UMR 5299) est une unit\u00e9 mixte de recherche du CNRS et de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montpellier, implant\u00e9e sur le campus Triolet. Il constitue l\u2019une des composantes du p\u00f4le MIPS (Math\u00e9matiques, Informatique, Physique et Syst\u00e8mes), l\u2019un des cinq grands p\u00f4les disciplinaires de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de Montpellier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La candidate ou le candidat devra \u00eatre une personnalit\u00e9 scientifique de premier plan, reconnue par la communaut\u00e9 internationale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Une forte motivation pour la direction d\u2019une structure de recherche dynamique et une capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 inscrire son action dans l\u2019\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me de recherche montpellierain sont attendues. Workshop 5th Astro-COLIBRI multi-messenger astrophysics, 12-16 October, 2026, Paris (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are pleased to announce the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.multimessenger-astrophysics.com\/\">5th Astro-COLIBRI multi-messenger astrophysics workshop<\/a>, which will take place from October 12 to 16, 2026, at Institut Pascal at the Paris-Saclay University (France).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Building on the success of previous workshops, this international event aims to advance and share a research agenda focused on interconnecting software tools for real-time multi-messenger astronomy. It serves as a platform for leading scientists and early-career researchers to engage in discussions, fostering collaboration between developers and users with diverse expertise. Astro-CC Project Training Event (Virtual Observatory School) [Extended Deadline]<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Astro-CC Pilot Project is organizing a hands-on training school on the Virtual Observatory (VO), hosted at the Strasbourg Astronomical Observatory (Strasbourg, France), from Tuesday 29 September to Thursday 1 October 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Virtual Observatory allows to explore and combine the rapidly growing volume of data from ground-based and space missions. This school will introduce participants to VO tools, standards, and services, enabling efficient scientific workflows across heterogeneous datasets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through guided tutorials, participants will gain experience in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; discovering and accessing data from major VO services,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; querying and cross-matching catalogues,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; working with spatial and temporal coverage,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8211; analyzing and visualizing results interactively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The hands-on sessions will be based on scientific use cases, including exploration of Gaia DR3 data, planetary surface composition, and time-domain phenomena such as Gamma-Ray Bursts&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dedicated time will be allocated for participants to work on their own scientific projects, with tutors providing guidance to help them apply the newly acquired methods and tools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To ensure a high level of interaction, participation is limited to 30 attendees.
