Johannes Geiss Fellowship at ISSI (Switzerland)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The International Space Science Institute (ISSI) in Bern, Switzerland invites applications for the 2027 Johannes Geiss Fellowship (JGF). Workshop Cesam2k20 IV: Modelling of the components of a multiple stellar system with exoplanets, Novembre 19-20, 2026, Meudon (France) &#8211; Second announcement announcement<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to strengthen the community of users around the Cesam2k20 public stellar evolution code, we are organising a third workshop which will take place on 19-20 November 2026, at the Meudon site of Paris Observatory for *30 participants*. School From PLATO pixels to sizing &amp; dating stars and planets, February 22-26, 2027, Aix-en-Provence (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is now a few months to go until the launch of the PLATO mission, which will mark the beginning of a new era for both exoplanetary and stellar science. The high-precision photometric data provided by the telescopes will allow for the detection and characterisation of extrasolar planets, through the transit method, focusing on small planets orbiting solar-like stars. PLATO will also enable the full characterisation of an unprecedented number of nearby stars, including seismic inference and measurements of stellar activity. Coupled with ground-based spectroscopic constraints, this will not only enable to determine stellar ages, masses and radii with unprecedented precision, and therefore much needed constraints for both exoplanetary system evolution or galactic archaeology, but also allow to answer decades-old puzzles related to stellar internal structure and evolution. Eventually, it will give us a large-scale catalogue of well-characterised exoplanets, thus providing answers to long-standing questions related to planetary formation and evolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In order to prepare new generations of astrophysicists for this very exciting era, we are organising the first PLATO School, From PLATO pixels to sizing &amp; dating stars and planets, in Aix-en-Provence, February 22 to 26, 2027. The school is intended for students or early-career researchers interested in any area of astrophysics that will benefit from the space photometry provided by PLATO. Through a series of lectures and hands-on tutorials animated by scientists involved in the preparation of the PLATO mission, you will be given the opportunity to understand PLATO products, familiarise yourself with the data analysis techniques and theoretical concepts that are central to the success of the mission, while also getting the chance to exchange and network with the scientific community. Whether PLATO data will be central to your research, or whether you are simply interested in expanding your horizon beyond your primary research focus, please book the date. Astronum@Exascale, 24 May \u2013 4 June, 2027, Les Houches (France)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are pleased to announce the Astronum@Exascale school, to be held 24 May \u2013 4 June 2027 in Les Houches (near Chamonix, France), aimed at PhD students, postdocs and young researchers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rationale: With the advent of Exascale supercomputers based on hybrid GPU-CPU architectures (Jupiter in Germany, Alice <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recoque in France), a whole world of complex astrophysical problems becomes addressable. This school aims to give an overview of the possibilities these machines offer for astrophysics and provide the tools to use them efficiently, so that participants can contribute to code development and run astrophysical simulations on these machines. The program combines numerical methods lectures (spectral methods, SPH, finite volume, particle-in-cell, parallel programming) and hands-on tutorials on exascale-ready codes such as Dyablo, Idefix, Shamrock, Zeltron++, and Magic.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Only 50 places are available. Applications remain open until&nbsp;<strong>January 15, 2027<\/strong>, but the first 80 applications received will be given full consideration in the initial review. Appel a propositions de stages M1 Observatoire de Paris<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nous vous invitons \u00e0 proposer, avant le 19 octobre 2026, des sujets de stage pour les \u00e9tudiants du M1 de l\u2019Observatoire de Paris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cette ann\u00e9e, 18 \u00e9tudiants (dont 11 venant d&rsquo;universit\u00e9s hors de France) sont inscrits en premi\u00e8re ann\u00e9e du Master (M1) Sciences de l&rsquo;Univers et Technologies Spatiales de l\u2019Observatoire de Paris :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.observatoiredeparis.psl.eu\/master-sciences-de-l-univers-4277.html\">https:\/\/www.observatoiredeparis.psl.eu\/master-sciences-de-l-univers-4277.html<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Ces \u00e9tudiants ont vocation \u00e0 poursuivre leur cursus en M2 Recherche ou professionnel dans le cadre du programme gradu\u00e9 de l\u2019Observatoire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Au cours du second semestre de leur M1, ils vont suivre un stage en recherche ou en ing\u00e9nierie spatiale\/sol. Ce stage peut avoir une dur\u00e9e variable : courte, interm\u00e9diaire, ou longue :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">* Stage court: stage de 2 mois \u00e0 temps plein du 19 avril au 21 juin 2027 inclus<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">* Stage interm\u00e9diaire: stage \u00e0 temps partiel (1 journ\u00e9e par semaine en alternance avec les cours chaque semaine) du 25 janvier au 2 avril inclus, puis \u00e0 temps plein du 19 avril au 21 juin 2027 inclus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">* Stage long: stage \u00e0 temps partiel (2 journ\u00e9es par semaine en alternance avec les cours chaque semaine) du 25 janvier au 2 avril inclus, puis \u00e0 temps plein du 19 avril au 21 juin 2027 inclus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour tous les stages, la soutenance aura lieu la semaine du 28 juin 2027.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nous rappelons aux enseignants-chercheurs de l\u2019Observatoire de Paris que l\u2019encadrement des stages du M1 de l&rsquo;Obs.-PSL est comptabilis\u00e9 en hETD dans le tableau de service de l\u2019UFE \u00e0 hauteur de 2,5 hETD\/semaine\/stage, plafonn\u00e9 \u00e0 32 hETD\/an (CNAP, MD), 48 hETD\/an (CNU).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La loi impose que les stages de plus de deux mois (interm\u00e9diaire et long) doivent faire l&rsquo;objet d&rsquo;une gratification. Elle doit \u00eatre financ\u00e9e autant que possible par des cr\u00e9dits de projets ou d&rsquo;\u00e9quipe du resp. de stage. Cet ouvrage donne \u00e0 construire et manipuler de nombreuses maquettes dans les grandes th\u00e9matiques que les enseignants peuvent \u00eatre amen\u00e9s \u00e0 aborder en classe ou les animateurs scientifiques avec leurs publics.
