2. ANDES France days, 24-25 November 2026, Montpellier (France) – 1st annoucement

The second ANDES France workshop aims to bring together the French community to prepare our contribution to the scientific exploitation of the ELT spectrograph ANDES from 2034–2035 onwards, both within the GTO and beyond.

ANDES is a versatile instrument that can deliver key results in the characterisation of exoplanets, theoretical physics, cosmology, and stellar physics. It has the potential to address two ambitious questions: the detection of biosignatures in Earth-like exoplanets and the direct detection of cosmic re-acceleration. It also serves a wide range of scientific interests, including extragalactic transients, the characterisation of cool stars, studies of deuterium abundances, the search for and characterisation of primordial stars, measurements of variations in the CMB temperature, investigations of protoplanetary discs, the search for low-mass black holes, and studies of the reionisation of the Universe.

The ANDES France days 2026 will be held in a hybrid format, combining in-person attendance and videoconferencing. Registration is free of charge and limited to 60 participants attending on site. The deadline for in-person registration is set for 18 November 2026. Participants are invited to submit proposals for oral presentations until 30 October 2026.
