2. NenuFAR Open Time Cycle #9: call for proposals
Located on the site of the Nançay Radio Observatory in France, NenuFAR is a very large low-frequency radio telescope, which is among the most powerful in the world in its frequency range between 10 MHz and 85 MHz. This range corresponds to the lowest spectral “window” in which we can observe with radio telescopes from the surface of the Earth.
We invite the worldwide community to apply for observing with NenuFAR during Cycle #9, that runs from 1 December 2026 to 31 May 2027.
Submission deadline : Friday 11 September 2026, 12 UT
Proposal documents are available here: https://nenufar.obs-nancay.fr/en/astronomer/

3. Conference ASC2027: from the sonata of Kepler and TESS to the symphony of future missions, August 2-6, 2027, Cádiz (Spain)
It is our pleasure to announce the 2027 Asteroseismic Science Consortium conference (formely TASC/KASC meetings), to take place August 2-6 at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of the University of Cádiz, in Southern Spain. This event will kick off the new conference series but keep building a community of observers, theoreticians, and everyone in between to tackle the ongoing challenges in stellar physics: angular momentum transport processes, magnetic fields and activity, binary interactions, and many more across the entire HR diagram.
The date and location have been selected to coincide with a total Solar eclipse on Monday, August 2, at 10.45am local time. We will observe from Baelo Claudia, a Roman archaeological site by the sea, where the views will complement the 4mn30s of totality. No cloud and fresh winds are forecast.
This early announcement is also the occasion to address an important point in the organization of the event. Due to the eclipse and the conference taking place during holiday season, accommodation may be hard to find in Cádiz that week.
We have secured a reasonable number of rooms, that we will reserve for early-career researchers and attendees from the global South. But we also are working hard to find more affordable housing for everyone. You can do two things to help in this process: first book accommodation as early as possible to ensure your participation (especially if you plan to have accompanying guests), second by pre-registrating on the website https://cadiz-meeting2027.ugr.es .
Pre-registration shall be open until ~October and will give us more leverage to negotiate affordable housing for everyone, please don’t overlook it!
Putative important dates:
Registration: before January 2027
Abstract, poster submission and travel grant applications: before May 2027
Contribution selection in May 2027
Symposium: August 2 to 6, 2027
